Two Buffaloes are headed to state track! Sophomores Emmarsyn Fordham and Lillie Weiser went to the regional track meet at Washington County on Thursday, and both punched their tickets to state track next week in Wichita.
Lillie broke her own school record in the pole vault with a jump of 10'6" to win the event, and also qualified for state in the triple jump. She originally broke the pole vault record last year as a freshman, then broke it again this season with a vault of 10'0".
Emmarsyn had an eventful day, as she played in the softball team's regional semifinal win at Alma, then raced to compete in regional track over an hour away. She continued her memorable day, as she broke the school shot put record with a throw of 37'10" to take 1st place in the event. The throw beat Cheyenne Brunkow's record of 37'0.5" which she set in 2016.
Congratulations on a terrific day ladies, and good luck at state! GO BUFFALOES!!!
