This year's baseball and softball seasons started off with an alumni scrimmage on Thursday, March 20. Both teams played well in their scrimmages. After the scrimmage was over both teams had a homerun derby on the softball field.

After the scrimmages, on Monday, March 24 both teams hosted Jackson Heights in the 2025 season opener. In the first game the softball team had three home runs by sophomore Makenzie Dorsey, junior Jadyn Haskin, and senior Bridgett Campbell, they ended up winning by a 11-1 run rule. In the top of the seventh inning the buffaloes held the Cobras to zero runs. In the bottom of the seventh down one run with two outs, senior LJ Koelzer hit the game tying single. The softball team followed up Thursday March 27 hosting Marysville, and the baseball team hosting Frankfort the same night for their first league game. On Thursday the softball team lost the first game 5-10. But in the second game they came back ready to win and they beat Marysville 10-2 and split with them. The softball team improved their record to 3-1. They will next play at Doniphan West on Monday March 31 for their first league game of the year. Now on the baseball side. The boys struggled in the first game vs Frankfort with multiple errors and ended up losing 7-2. Going into the second game they looked strong starting the first two innings tied at one but they let the game get away with one big inning by Frankfort, and ended up losing by a 12-2 run rule.

The baseball team is traveling to Doniphan West on Monday March 31, for their second league matchup for the year. Both teams had a decent week for the opening games of the year, and look to improve as the year goes on.
